Meriski is delighted to be collaborating with the British Snowsports Fund in supporting the UK’s future Olympic skiers and snowboarders.
You may have seen recently in the press that British Ski and Snowboard have set up the British Snowsports Fund – an initiative that sees companies across the UK snowsports industry unite to raise vital additional funding for our future British winter sports athletes.
Not surprisingly, here at Meriski we are passionate about all things ski and snow! So we jumped at the chance to get involved and do our bit to help support our future winter Olympians. Anything to replicate the euphoria of snowboarder Jenny Jones’ historic bronze medal in Sochi!
Only fourteen British snowboarders and freestyle skiers currently receive funding from UK Sport.
Training and travel costs for winter athletes often run into the tens of thousands, so all our other athletes across all disciplines, who receive no funding from UK Sport, will benefit hugely from this fundraising.
Money raised by the fund will be distributed across the spectrum; from those on the verge of qualifying for PyeongChang 2018 right through to the grass roots, including projects that support increased participation in the sports.
We want to ensure that anyone with talent, regardless of how much money they have, can demonstrate their full potential.
The idea behind the fund is simple. If every British recreational skier donated £1 to the fund the results would be transformational.
If you would like to be a part of this initiative and contribute to the future of British snowsports, simply tick the box on our booking form or let us know when making your payment that you would like to add a £1 donation for each person in your party.
