COMPANY PROFILE: Meriski is the Méribel expert. As a one-resort chalet specialist, now entering our 23rd season, we probably know Méribel better than anyone else. HOURS OF WORK

The season runs from the beginning of December until the end of April 6 day working week 08.30 – 18.00; Sundays off

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Private nannies must hold NNEB or CACHE qualifications and have at least one year’s experience. Non-qualified nannies that have good childcare experience are considered to work in our Crèche facility. You must have natural love of children demonstrated with experience in caring for babies from 3 months to 12 years Nannies must have bags of energy, enthusiasm and imagination to ensure children are entertained and stimulated throughout the time they are in your care. Nannies must be creative in designing a range of activities to suit children of all ages.

SOCIAL CONDITIONS

Accommodation is shared so it is essential that you are easy going and considerate to others. The job involves long, varied hours, particularly at the beginning of the season, over Christmas and New Year. There is, however, lots of time to socialise when the work is done.

SUMMARY OF OVERALL ROLE

Provide excellent childcare services for guests children, aged between 3 months – 12years, whilst not in parents care. To promote overall feeling of trust with parents at all times and to ensure that the children and parents have a problem free holiday that exceeds their expectations.

DUTIES

Service

  • Ensure that our guests enjoy a holiday experience that exceeds their expectations.
  • Work to a professional level in either crèche, Merikids club, or in the chalets.
  • Create a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere for the guests and their children.
  • Discuss weekly programme with parents and children, ensuring it is varied and interesting.
  • Incorporate creative, fun and stimulating activities, indoor and outdoor, suitable for the age range of the child/children, and report back to parents the activities and achievements of the day.
  • Observe individual children’s needs.
  • Create a good first and last impression.
  • Make up Merisacs for new arrivals.
  • Deal with injuries/accidents as outlined by Childcare Manager, report incidents immediately.
  • Baby-sit on evenings (optional apart from Thursday nights) as arranged and paid for in resort by guests.
  • Be aware of special needs to looking after children in the Alps.
  • Look after the general welfare of our guests at all times.
  • Give appropriate information to enable guests to get the most out of their holiday.
  • Ensure that in an emergency the guests know whom to contact.
  • Ensure effective handling of a dissatisfied guest and take immediate action to resolve.

Catering

  • Provide children’s lunches as appropriate ensuring they are healthy balanced variable meals.
  • Set table appropriately for each meal, and serve and clear meal in accordance with Meriski training.
  • Ensure all children’s dietary requirements are understood and catered for, liaise with parents and children.

Housekeeping and Maintenance

  • Maintain a clean and tidy crèche, and club, observing the highest standards set out by Meriski.
  • Keep clean (with appropriate sanitizer) all children’s equipment and toys.
  • Leave tidy and clean all areas of chalet after caring for children.
  • Report all breakages/maintenance relevant to childcare equipment to Childcare Manager.
  • Report any maintenance work required and ensure it is completed
  • Clear snow and make safe pathways leading to/from the crèche/club.
  • Complete crèche/club set-up and closedown and suitable handover.

Company Image

  • Show loyalty to the company, its employees, and its suppliers.
  • Project a professional company image at all times.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of and support the company’s policies and products.
  • When on duty wear the correct company uniform at all times and ensure that your personal grooming is always of the highest standard.
  • Know and understand fully the company emergency procedure and how it operates in your resort.
  • Abide by health and safety regulations putting the safety of children first at all times.

5) Administration

  • Complete child log book daily.
  • Show receipts for all goods purchased relevant to company business
  • Complete all company paperwork accurately, punctually and neatly as directed by your manager
  • Abide by Company Health and Safety standards and procedures, report any hazards immediately
