For me, skiing is a passion and watching my two children learn to ski over the years has formed some of my fondest memories. Even though they both whizz past me now, we still have lots of fun!!

I have worked in the luxury hospitality industry for most of my career. For 11 years, I was the sales & marketing director for Luxury Family Hotels, (before it was sold in 2007). This gave me a real insight into what people want when they are on holiday and how we as the provider of a service can really help them relax.

Having stayed with Meriski as a guest, quite a few years ago, I do remember thinking “hey, here’s a company that have got it right!” Never did I think that one day I would be running the company.

Thorough our own experiences Huw and I are constantly striving to improve what Meriski has to offer and this season is no exception.

Having studied tourism at university (a few years ago now!), I spent 2 winter seasons working as a trainee ski instructor in Andorra in the Pyrennees and summers for PGL. I then came back to the UK with the intention of doing a "sensible" job and ended up working for the chalet operator Skiworld at their head office in London in sales and operations. My love of France then attracted me to take a job running an upmarket villa program in the south of France for International Chapters and then Abercrombie and Kent where I helped develop their villa program.

I came to Meriski in November 2004 (having come back to skiing!) and last year took part in a management buy out of the business. I live in Cirencester with my wife and new cocker spaniel puppy and my hobbies are most sports in particular squash , cricket , shooting , hiking , fishing and watching rugby/cricket - oh and skiing of course. I also love cooking, travelling and have a strong interest in wine and food in general.

Sales Manager

I moved from London to the Cotswolds, leaving behind my high powered City job, to get married and have babies!  After I emerged from the world of nappies I decided to work for a small ski company based in Cirencester.  Eight years later I am still at Meriski and loving everything the job throws at me.  There is never a dull moment dealing with staff, guests, ski schools and transfer companies. Through Meriski my two daughters have had the opportunity to become wonderful skiers, who now leave me in their wake. When not working, my life involves being a taxi service to my children, walking my dog Tilly and enjoying the sights of Cheltenham.  

Vicki Roberts

Office Manager

Having studied Hotel and Catering Management at University and worked in hotels for 7 years I took on a head office role as Office Manager after the birth of my first son.  5 years later I made the move to Meriski in 2005 as Office Manager while the 2 companies were still connected. 

My love of skiing and the location of the office meant it was the ideal move.  Over the years I have dealt with sales, admin, recruitment and IT amongst other things although I am now focusing on accounts and IT. 

When I am not at work or busy with my family (husband, 2 boys and black lab) I can be found running the local Rainbows and Brownies; or running, cycling or swimming – sometimes combining all 3 in triathlon.
